Subject Directories: Library

Many university libraries review, collect, and organize material into subject guides or virtual reference pages so relevant resources can be more easily found and used for research. Below are two examples.

Web Resources by Subject

These highlight important sources in an academic discipline.

They provide links to online sites in a subject.

The material selected for inclusion has been reviewed by librarians and is usually annotated.

Other excellent library subject directories:  AcademicInfo.net, Librarians' Internet Index (lii.org), Social Science Information Gateway (sosig.ac.uk), and Michigan Electronic Library (mel.lib.mi.us)
